about

STEFAN CHRISTOFF: «I am really honoured to present this live quintet recording, recorded as part of the Artists Against Apartheid concert series in support of Palestinian human rights, this show was documented and mixed by the awesome Nick Schofield who hosts Underground Sounds on CKUT 90.3 FM here in Montréal, a staple for independent alternative music selections on the FM dial in the city.»

SAM SHALABI: «Music – instrumental music in particular – can speak when words, argument and polemics fail. Doing this music in the context of Artists Against Apartheid is a way to speak directly to the heart, mind and soul of the plight, culture experience and aspirations of subjugated people. Artists Against Apartheid is a context and space to speak in this way – to allow music the freedom of a deeper speech that words and people often can't articulate or can't and sometimes don't want to hear – music is a faster than light way to communicate humanity directly to and for anyone with a heart and mind open enough to hearing it. For me, AAA has always been a place where that can happen.»
